Guess the #1 Roadblock to Your Transformation Journey?

Early on in the nutrition coaching process, turn to your client and ask this question: "What do you think is the #1 roadblock to most people's success with this?" Then, just wait.

Happy 2-Tips Tuesday!

Here are two ideas to consider this week.

1. Guessing Game: What's the #1 Roadblock?

You know me, I love me a good nutrition coaching game!

Early on in the nutrition coaching process, turn to your client and ask this question:

“I want to play a guessing game with you. What do you think is the #1 roadblock to most people’s success with this?”

Then, just wait.
You might hear answers like:

⏰  Lack of time

😵‍💫  Stress

💔  Missing social support

💰  Financial limitations

😓  Too many commitments

Validate whatever answers they come up with, and then say, “Can I share what I think it is as a coach?”

Discouragement.

Then, talk about it with them.

2. Wise Words About Discouragement

Discourage kills more progress than inability ever will.

Discouragement comes into our experience when reality doesn’t line up with our expectations.

A few years back, a client shared something rather insightful. She said, “for 30 years, I’ve been trying to lose all the weight in 3 months.”

As long as we put a deadline on the time we’re willing to work towards a transformation, we guarantee that we’ll stay stuck in the same loop.

When we say, “I’ll only work on this problem for 3 months of my life” … we’re really saying, “this isn’t important enough for me to seriously consider changing my life and health for good.”

Losing weight and transforming our health isn’t a temporary vacation from life – it is shaping a new way of living. One that you can keep doing.

And when you adjust your expectations to line up with the reality of lifelong transformation, discouragement becomes a blip on the radar instead of an anchor weighing you down.
