2-Tips

Kind Nerd Note: Great coaching isn’t just nutrition knowledge. It’s knowing how to put your client’s inner world into words so they feel deeply understood.

Tip #1:
A Lesson from the Greatest Facebook Marketplace Ad I’ve Ever Written

This past weekend, I accidentally wrote the greatest Facebook Marketplace ad of my life.

You know how selling on Marketplace usually goes.

People lowball you, ghost you in chat, say they’re “on the way,” and then disappear while you waste your Saturday.

But this time? My ad blew up.

Multiple bids.

Zero hagglers.

Four people fighting over my snowblower.

Instead of the usual Marketplace hell, I walked away with a full-price offer in under 24 hours, with friends of friends sharing my ad because they said it was the funniest thing they’d read all year.

And it all came down to one skill:

Good writing.

The same skill that helps nutrition coaches stand out when they’re trying to sell their services online.

If you’re curious, here’s my ad:

𝗙𝗒π—₯ π—¦π—”π—Ÿπ—˜:⁣ 𝗦𝗑𝗒π—ͺ π—•π—Ÿπ—’π—ͺπ—˜π—₯⁣
For the buyer who is sick of breaking their back while pretending they “don’t mind shovelling.”⁣
⁣
Let’s be honest: ⁣
Shovelling is not “good exercise.”⁣
⁣
It’s a Canadian rite of misery performed at 6:30am while wondering if you’ll be late for work again.⁣
⁣
π—œπ—™ 𝗬𝗒𝗨'π—©π—˜ π—˜π—©π—˜π—₯:
⁣
• Cleared your driveway… only for the snowplough to dump a 3-foot wall of betrayal like your toxic cheating ex⁣
⁣
• Felt your lower back whisper, “This is how we die”⁣
⁣
• Tried to fling snow over a bank taller than you⁣
⁣
• Googled “Can you legally call in sick because of your driveway?”⁣
⁣
…this machine is calling your name.⁣
⁣
Read the full ad on Facebook (it gets even better)

Want to know the real reason this ad worked so well?

It comes down to a tried-and-true marketing secret that top coaches use to sell out their nutrition services. Keep reading below, and I’ll teach it to you.

Tip #2:
The Real Secret Behind Why the Ad Worked

Why did the ad work so well?
It wasn’t just the jokes.

It was because I described the exact pain the buyer already felt — better than they could explain it themselves.

That’s called Voice of Customer, and it’s the same skill that helps nutrition coaches stand out online.

When you can name your client’s struggles with precision, people feel seen.
And when people feel seen, they trust you — and buy faster.

Here are real things clients tell me all the time:

Weight concerns

“My pants feel tight, and I don’t like what I see in the mirror.”
“I keep gaining weight and nothing I try works anymore.”

Burnout & emotional burden

“I’m exhausted from putting everyone else first.”
“I need to take care of my own health, but I don’t know where to start.”

Food noise & stress eating

“I’m stuck in a cycle of restricting, binging, and obsessing over food.”
“The food noise is so loud. I just want it to stop.”

Confusion & overwhelm

“Healthy eating feels so confusing. Can someone just tell me what to eat?!”

These are the sentences I use (in my clients’ exact words) on the landing page for my Nutrition Transformation Program, and it’s why that page converts so well. People email me weekly after landing on my website, ready to sign up for my nutrition coaching services, no sales call required.

If you want your coaching to resonate, start here:

  1. Write down the exact phrases your clients say.
  2. Use their words, not yours.
  3. Speak to their pain before you talk about your program.

That’s the whole lesson:
The more clearly you articulate your client’s internal world, the easier everything becomes — sales, coaching, retention, and referrals.
