The $1K/day diet

I cut my team, sold my building, and now earn $1K/day working half the hours. Here’s why sometimes growth means cutting, not adding, and how PRO$PER helps nutrition coaches build lean, profitable, joyful businesses.
Happy 2-Tips Tuesday!
Here are two ideas to consider this week.
By Jennifer Broxterman, RD
1. Bigger isn’t better. Better is better.
In the gym world, we bulk and cut. Add calories, add mass, then strip it down to reveal the muscle underneath.
Business works the same way.
For years, I was bulking: bigger team, bigger building, more offers, more overhead. But over time, it stopped making sense. My calendar was packed. My brain was fried. My time wasn’t mine.
So in 2025, I cut.
I sold my building. Let go of staff. Raised my rates significantly. And rebuilt a business that runs lean, earns high, and gives me space to breathe.
Now I work half days, earn $1K/day, and keep my expenses under $1,000/month. I do deep work in the mornings, see four A+ clients a day, and spend the rest of my time actually living my life.
Here’s the part I was scared to say out loud: I’m more successful, and genuinely happier, than I ever was trying to scale.
This is what we do inside the PRO$PER certification. Not just teaching coaching skills, but showing experienced coaches how to run a business that creates peace, profit, and freedom — without chasing more for the sake of more.
Through 1:1 mentorship, I work with each coach to streamline systems, dial in pricing and positioning, and build a business that creates time, peace, and profit — not just top-line growth.
One coach in PRO$PER 5x’d their earnings in 60 days after cutting 3 offers and simplifying their funnel.

2. The Happiest People I Know
My best friend sent me this recently:
“Genuinely happy people are doing less than you.
They have fewer goals. Fewer appointments. Fewer obligations.
Busy is a choice. Peace is too. One looks successful. The other actually is.”
That hit, and captured my 2025 perfectly.
I used to think freedom came after the big months, the big team, the big everything. But it didn’t. It came when I stopped chasing.
Most of the experienced coaches I mentor in PRO$PER are drowning in “shoulds”:
Should I post more?
Should I scale my team?
Should I start a podcast?
What they really need is a better offer, better clients, and a better system — not more platforms, more content, or more chaos.
If your business feels like a daily dumpster fire, let’s rebuild it.
Clear systems. Tight offers. Premium prices.
Clients who are excited to pay you.
Because if you don’t fix your offers and systems, no amount of hustle will grow your nutrition program or fix your burnout.
September 2025 is the last time I’m accepting new 1:1 mentorship students inside of PRO$PER, and I’d love to work with you.
Together, we’ll cut what’s not working, improve your systems, and only keep what’s serving you today.
